Supersaturated vacancies were juttroduced in high purity aluminum singlecrystals with comparatively low dislocatiout densities by air-cooling from tempera-tures betwee?? 300'C and 400'C, and their decays during aging at 50'C werestudied by means of the electrical resistarace measureme?at. The S-shaped decayprofile was observed clearly when the initial concentration of vacancies is low.The profile was explained by the clustering of vacancies, atad the process is de-scribable by a model which takes into account the associatio?a and dissociationof small vacauacy clusters couatainimag vacatacies less than ten and their growth tolarger clusters.
