ESR of an Mn^<2+>-S^<2-> Complex Center in KCl Crystals

• Electron spin resonance of lVInS-doped KCI crystals has been investigated. It wars f'otrnd that as-grown sarttples show a sirtaple spectrtrtaa looking lithe being constrtrcted from eighteen resonancelines. The spectrttttu was very stable ?rt room tenaperattrre and the SIIIIC spectruna was alsoobt;tined af'ter annealing of qtrenched satauples whicln exibit only well-known spectra dtre to txvo2-F-types of Mn -vac?tncy couaaplex centers. Such 21 spectrtruta claatracteristic of' as-grown sanapleswas analysed tusing a unodel of an iN4n"-S' conaplex center in an orthorhotnbic cryststlline fieldbasically wnth principal axes along (100) ctrbic crystal arxes, two of' which arre tilted by 10' f'rorn(100) crystal axes. When as-grown sauaaples were cooled down to abotrt l50K, the tilt angledecreased to zero and the crystalline field strrrotrnding the center charnged frotn orthorhoraabicto nearly tetragonal. It was also fotrnd that the 1VIn"-S' COIIII)l6X center responsible for the18-line spectra dis?'tppears by LIV irradiation.
