Temperature dependence of the momentum distribution of positronium in KCIsingle crystals has been investigated in a temperature range from 5 K to 300 K.The distribution is sharp at low temperatures indicating that the positronium isin a delocalized state, but it is rapidly broadened when the specimen is heated upthrottgh a narrow temperature range around 65 K indicating the Vocalization ofthe positronitum at sufficiently high temperatures. Such a phenomenon is similarto that previously observed for NaF though the temperature r'ange for the broad-ening is much lower and narrower than that for Na.F. A model proposed for NaFwhich assumes meta-stable self-trapping of positrccnium is fc>und to explain thepresent data fairly well; the analysis suggests that the energy level of the possibleself-trapped state is located about 0.05 eV higher than the bottom of the de-localized band.
