Nuclear magnetic resonance of "Al nuclei in (Gd. .Tb,)Al. has been observedat 4.2 K as a function of Tb concentration. Two peaks are observed and theirpositions decrease almost linearly with Tb concentration, indicating that thegadolinium moment direction does not change all over the concentration. Thetransferred hyperfine fields from rare earth ions in these compounds are analysedfrom RKKY theory.
