The Co^<59> Nuclear Magnetic Resonances in (Y_<1-x>Gd_x)_2Co_<17>

• The nuclear magnetic resonances of Co^<59> in (Y_<1-x>Gd_x)_2Co_<17> have been observed at 77 K as a function of x (0≤x≤1). The diffrerence in resonance frequencies between Y_2Co_<17> and Gd_2Co_<17> is at most 7kOe in magnitude, which is comparable to that obtained in GdCo_5. The sign of the obtained difference depends on the Co sites. The difference is qualitatively explained as the contribution of 4f electrons of Gd atoms to the hyperfine field. The temperature dependence of the resonance frequencies in Gd_2Co_<17> has also been measured.
