High momentum components in the momentum distribution of annihilation photonsfrom Cu sungle crystal have been investigated using the crossed-slit rotating-specimenmethod. The obtained data have been analyzed by using a simple model based on theWigner-Seitz approximation. Agreement of the calculated results with the experimentaldata is good in high momentum region, suggesting that, away from the zoneboundaries, the "umklapp" annihilation rate does rtot strongly depend on the momen-tum. However, the observed intensity of the "umlclapp" annihilation relative to the"normal" annihilation has been considerably snnaller than that predicted by theWigner-Seitz model.
