Momentum distributions of annihilating electron pairs have been measured along the [111] axes of copper and copper-aluminium alloys. Each curve shows a fairly distinct hump near the (111) zone face, being in marked contrast with the theoretical expectation of Berko and Plaskett. (Phys. Rev. 112 (1958, 1877) It is pointed out that the cause of the failure of this theory consists in the assumption that the positron wave function is a constant.
