The magnetic structures of the GdCu.-.Zn, system have been studied byepithermal neutron diffraction and magnetization measurements. The antiferro-magnetic (m, x, 0) order was detected in GdCu....Zn ..55 below 50 K, abovewhich a superparamagnetic behavior appears. GdCug..5Zn.)... is almost ferro-magnetic, but an inhomogeneous canting of the spin is anticipated at low tem-peratures. The magnetic phase diagram is distinctly different from that of theTb(CuZn) system.
