The crystal lattice tnodulation of Er which is indtrced by x'arious naagnetic strtrcttrres has beensttrdied Tcy means of X-ray difl'raction technique trnder taaagnetic field along the o-axis of thehexagonal close packing crystal strtrcttrre. At 35 K, the 2nd ?xnd 4th order satellites catrsedby tlae lattice uaaodulation h?tve been observed below the maagnetic field of' 4.5 T, btzt the 6thorder satellite appeared aloove 4.5 T in addition to the 2nd and 4th order s;ttellites. The restrltindicates the fan magnetic structure appeared above 4.5T is strongly distorted. The magneticphase diagraraa obtained by the presenat experitauent is coraapar'ed with tlae restrlts by netrtrondiffraction.
