Hall Effect of Iodine in High Pressure

The Hall coefficient of metallic iodine is measured in pressures up to 74 GPa at room temperature and in 30 GPa at 4.2 K. The carrier of the pressure-induced metallic iodine is found to be a hole in agreement with the theoretical prediction.
