The properties of anti-plasma attack of Eu3+:Y2O3 whiskers, synthesized by a chemical-vapor-deposition technique operated under atmospheric pressure, have been investigated. Photoluminescence spectra appear not to be affected by the duration of electron-cyclotron-resonance plasma, which suggests that the synthesized material exhibits to some extent the properties necessary to sustain plasma attacks.
