Pre-seasonal treatment of cedar pollinosis with histamine-gammaglobulin conjugate (Histaglobin, HG).

The effect of pre-seasonal injections of histamine-gammaglobulin conjugate (Histaglobin®, HG) for cedar pollinosis was investigated in 6 hospitals. There was no sigificant difference in the symptoms between the HG pre-treated group (HG group) and the non HG-treated group (no-HG group) . However, the onset of symptoms was later in HG group, and these patients needed fewer medications during the pollen season. Moreover, the patients who recieved 5 or more injections of HG had significantly fewer symptoms than those who recieved less than 5 injections. Preseasonal treatment with HG was therefore concluded to be effective for cedar pollinosis.
