Antioxidative Substances in the Leaves of Ligustrum purpurascens

The antioxidative constituents in Ku-Ding-Cha, the processed leaves of Ligustrum purpurascens, used as a traditional tea in Yunnan Province, China, were investigated. Among nine phenylpropanoid acid esters of phenylethanoid and monoterpene glycosides, acteoside and ligupurpuroside A having a caffeoyl moiety showed DPPH radical reducing activity.
