A 9.5-GHz oscillator stabilized by a mechanically modulated superconducting cavity has been developed. The vibration of a bar which makes a part of the cavity wall modulates its resonant frequency. The modulation is utilized to detect frequency offset between the cavity and the oscillator. Phase noise reduction in the oscillator of more than 40 db, at 1.5kHz apart from the carrier, was attained. This type of low phase noise oscillator is useful for a high sensitive parametric vibration transducer of gravitational radiation detectors.
