The radiation power received by an antenna aiming at a moving train of density-modulated charge is calculated. The fact that a certain amount of energy is received in this way should not mean that a moving charge radiates energy in free open space. This point is discussed in connection with the emission of C^^∨erenkov radiation in uniform medium.
