We present the result of a preliminary experiment determining an upper limitof the density of the background gravitational radiation at 8.6 kHz. The outputsof a pair of resonant antennas operating at room temperature are directly cor-related retaining their phases. After 50 hours of observation, the energy densityof the radiation is found to be (1.03 1.2) x 10=' J m='Hz='.
