The 193 nm photodissociation mechanism of Cd(CH_3)_2 adsorbed on a quartz substrate at 170 K has been studied by means of laser-induced fluorescence time-of-flight spectroscopy. The translational energy distribution of the ejected neutral Cd atoms is characterized by two different distributions; one is a modified Boltzmann distribution with a temperature of 230 ± 30 K and the other is that with a temperature of 1000 ±200 K.
