A Study on the Flux Pinning Anisotropy in Nb/Al_2O_3 Superconducting Multilayers

The critical currents of the Nb/Al_2O_3 multilayers have been measured under parallel and perpendicular magnetic fields. The anisotropy of the pinning force is investigated as a function of thickness of both the Nb and Al_2O_3 sublayers. The pinning force under the parallel field is more markedly enhanced in the multilayers with the thinner Nb layer in the two-dimensional superconductivity region.
