Effect of Reduced Randomness on Jam in a Two-Dimensional Traffic Model

Traffic flow is sitntrlated in a two-dimensional cellular automaton model with an additionalregtrlarity on the initial placetnent of cars: the equal nunaber of cars in rows and columns of thesqtrare lattice. Among the ultimate traffic states, the comrnenstrrate velocity states are found,where the mean velocity is constant. Reduction of the randomness shifts the critical density forthe traffic jam to the higher densities.
