Measurement of Elastic Constants in[N (CH_3)_4]_2ZnI_4 Single Crystal

Temperature dependences of diagonal elements of the elastic stiffness constant in[N(CH3)4]2ZI1I4 single crystal have been measured between room temperature and about 200 Kby means of the ultrasonic pulse echo overlap method. In the room temperature phase (phaseI), softening of the elastic constant c55 has been observed. The transition temperature has beendetermined to be V'CI : 256 K. The second elastic anomaly of phase transition has been observedat T?x = 213 K.
