Fine Structure in Luminescence Spectra of NaNO_2. II. Isotopic Lines and their Resonant Enhancement

Energies of the zero-phonon transitions in three isotopic NOI ions have beenestimated by the extrapolation of the series of isotopic lines in luminescence spectraof NaN0.. Energies determined are 3N8 cm ' larger than that of the zero-phonon line due to the normal N0q ion. When the crystal is excited with atunable dye laser in the region near the zero-phonon line, it shows multiple Ramanscattering due to rz-vibrations of the normal and isotopic NOI tons. The isotopiclines are enhanced resonantly by the excitation at the extrapolated positions.The obtained isotope shifts are interpreted in terms of the shifts of the zero-pointvibration energies of the isotopic ions.
