Localized Impurity States in Liquid Tellurium : Paramagnetic Susceptibilities of 4d-Transitional Solutes in Liquid Te

The static susceptibilities of dilute 4d-transition solutes in liquid telluriumhave been measured. The additional susceptibilities show non-magnetic behaviourand are interpreted in terms of the virtual bound state (v.b.s.) of solute ions.Using the experimental data, the half-width A of v.b.s. and the effective intra-atomic d-d interaction are estimated as 2.2 eV and 6.0 eV, respectively.
