Compound-Forming Effect in the Resistivity of Liquid Na-Pb Alloys

The electrical resistivity of N'a-Pb alloys has been measured as a function oftemperature and concentration. The curve of the resistivity has a remarkablemaximum around the composition of 75 at %Na. The curve of temperaturedependence of the resistivity has also a sharp maximum at 80at%Na. Fromthese results and the thermodynamic properties of this system, it is inferred thatthere forms a grouping of Na.Pb in liquid Na-Pb alloys. The resistivity isothermwas analysed in terms of compound-forming effect.
