Anomalous Cu-NQR Spectral Change Due to Low-Temperature Structural Transition around x=0.06 in (La_<1-x>Ba_x)_2CuO_4

In (La, ...Ba...),CuO., the Cu-NQR spectra for .X'=0.0625 arxd .X"=0.08 were ob-served in each phase of tlte crystal structure. The temperature dependence of the spinecho decay rate, T 7 , was also measured from 1.5 K to 300 K for both samples. Thetwo well-separated sets of NQR spectra were observed in tlae high-temperaturetetragonal (HTT) and low-temperature orthorhombic (LTO) phases in both samples.The spectrum at 1.5 K in the low??temperature tetragonal (LTT) phase for ,X'=0.0625 isabnormally broadened compared to the spectra in the I-ITT and LTO phases, andT ]' shows strong divergence at about 35 K. These twc>abnormal vstatic and dynamicalresults indicate that the electronic state of the Cu atom changes from a nonmagneticto magnetic one in the LTO = LTT transition, and some magnetic phase transition occurs at about 35 K which is lower than the LTT transition tem)cerature, 60 K.(La. ...Ba...).CuO., Cu-NQR, structural transition
