NMR Study of Phase Transition from B2 to DO_3 near Reentrant Spin Glass Composition in FeAl Alloy

The distribution of the hyperfine field at "Al in Fe...,Al...., alloy in thermalequilibrium state at various annealing temperature, T. was measured to studymicroscopically the phase transition from B2 to DO, in the reentrant spin glass com-position in Feel alloy system. At the B2 phase, the simple broad spectrum is ob-served. When T. is reduced and enters to DO. region, the spectrum separates roughlyto two groups. One has a peak at about 55 MHz (Sig.H) and the other has a peak atabout 30 MHz (Sig.L). Sig.L increases rapidly and, at the same time, Sig.H decreaseswith decreasing T. without shifting the peak positions. The results directly show thatthe phase transition occurs heterogeneous way as that DO, region expands at the ex-pense of B2 region. The coexistence is still observed at sufficiently low T..
