Dielectric Anomalies and Photoconductibity in Host Insulator Cu_2O Correlative with High-T_c Superconductivity

Dielectric anomalies have been recograized in tcunpcraUture dependcutces of the darkdielectric response zc(7') ancl also tlte [r;tnsient photocoutductivity Q(T, 2) of insulating crystals of cuprous oxide Cu.0. Unlike stubmerging characters of normalphotoconductivity in xnost insulators, Cu.O exhibits a series of step-like exnergencesof Q(T) with decreasing T in correspondextce with tlte dielectric anounalies in zc(7?)characteristic to electronic pltasc transitiomts. Anortvalies irt t<' (T ) auad the step temperalures T, in Q(T, /',) of CURD arc, via the Y-Ctu-0, La-Cu-O, correlated with thecritical temperaltxres T, of sxxperconductivity in p(T) of the Cu-based oxides such asthe Y-Ba-Cu-O, La-Ba-Cu-O systems. Tlttus, Cu.O can be considered to be the"basic host insulator" relevant to the Ctu-based superconductors. Therefore, we cantcall such an anomalous photccconcluctivity Q(T) discovcred in Ctu.0, Y-Cu-0,La-Cu-O as well over all host insulators of the Cu-based superconductors to be" Supercondttc'tive-Conjugate Pltotctcondttc'livily " .
