• In current carrying low beta plasmas heated by Ohmic curreutt or neutral beam in-jection (NBI), it is found that the stability window for current clriven modes exists inthe range of - 22< I.. /B.< 10 kA /T. Here minus sign means that the Ohmic cur-rent flows in such a way to decrease the rotational transform in the vacuum, and thisis called 'subtractive case'. The opposite situation is called 'additive case'. When amagnetic surface with total rotational transform t.= l appears near the center(Z..>l7kA at Z?.=1.8T), internal disruptions are observed. On the other hand,when r. at the center is below zero (I.. / B.< - 22 kA / T) , stronag MHD activities areseen. Both relaxation oscillations may be explained by a non-linear behaviour of anm=1/n=I internal kink mode (additive case), and an m=I/n=0 resistive tearingmode (subtractive case), respectively. Here m is the poloidal mode number and n isthe toroidal mode number.
