Experimental Investigation of the Fast Ion Orbit Shift and Loss Cone in Heliotron E

The inward shift and the toroidal precession of the deeply trapped ion orbit in HeliotronE plasnaas are measured trsing the claarge exchange ataalysis, and fotrnd to be corusistent withthe classical drif't orbit theory. Depletion strtrcttrres on energy spectra are observed dtrringlinuiter insertion or pellet in.jection. Ftrrtherrnore, the rapid chanage of the depletion structuresby additional beam injection or limiter bias is also investigated. These depletion structurescan be explained by an efl'ect of' the resonant loss dtre to the negative radial electric field, E..Theoretical analysis of tlae E. profile shows that a jcositive E. in tlte vicinity of the loss botrndarydisttrrbs the resonant condition of deeply trapped particles locally, and can redtrce the resonantloss cone.
