Study of the Fast Ion Slowing-Down Process and ECRH Effects in Heliotron E

• In the Heliotron E device, combining a netutral ])621111 injection (INBI) with an electron cyclotronresonance heating (ECRH) systetaa, new physical issues are applied to the investigation of fastion behavior. Bspecially, the slowing-down (deceleration ?tnd parallel diffusion) and the lossprocesses are studied experimentally through n?easurernents of the temporal change of charge-exchange neutral particle energy spectra. As results, first, in the longer slowing-down tirne('r. x 200 mus) plasuna realized by ECRH, discrepancies frorn the theoretical valtues are detectedin the deceleration and the parallel diffusion processes, whose factors are 4x6 for the fornaer,6xl3 for the latter. Second, the fast ion loss cone is reduced by the ECRH on the NBI plasnaa,of which cavxse is discussed associated with the naodification of the radial electric field, E..
