The de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect in the second stage SbCI 5 -graphiteintercalation compounds (GIC's) has been studied. Ten dHvA frequencies areobserved. Most of dHvA frequencies are fitted to the cylindrical Fermi surface(FS) model. Deviation from the cylindrical FS model has been observed for oneof the three main oscillation branches. For this branch (5 an undulated sharewith a hyperboloidal part is fairly fitted. This result suggests that the interactionmust be taken into account between graphite layers bounding the intercalamtlayers : the interaction has not been considered so far in the previous band caJcu-Iations. The amplitude reauction or the dHvA oscillation at high fields has teemobserved for the branch<>, This behavior is interpreted in terms of the phase-smearing produced by the spatial variation of the strain.
