The Spin-Lattice Relaxation Processes of the Relaxed Excited State of F Centers in KBr

The temperature dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation time, 7'f(7'), of therelaxed excited state (RES) of F centers in KBr has been obtained from analysisof the temperature variation of the magnetic circular polarization (MCP) ofluminescence, A...(T), under the magnetic field of 0.3 T. It was found that1 /7'T(7') obeys the Raman process (7"-dependence) due to phonon modulation ofa crystal field above 7 K. From the curve-fitting of A...(T), the proportionalityconstant F. between the para-magnetic componerut of the MCP and the spinpolarization in the RES has been estimated to be l F,?< 0.01.
