Magnetic Impurities in Superconductors; La (Ce) Sn_<3-x>Pb_x and La_<1-y>Y_y (Ce) Systems

The dependences of the superconducting transition temperature and specificheat jump on the Ce impurity concentration have been reported for the supercon-ducting La(Ce)Sn. .Pb. and La. ,Y,(Ce) systems. The magnetic-nonmagnetictransition of the Ce impurities in these alloy systems has been observed by varyingthe host composition. These results are compared with not only the Mfiller-Hartmann and Zittartz theory but also the recent Matsuura, Ichinose andNagaoka theory. It is concluded that the alloys with T./T..>10' behave as if theywere nonmagnetic in the superconducting state. The behavior of the initialdepression of the specific heat jump in the transition region from magnetic tononmagnetic is discussed.
