Using the spin wave theory a few thermodynan'xic quantities of soli([ 'HC j?the "uudd" phase are calculated. In the first approximation, in which higherterms than the fourth r>ower of I-Iolstein-Primakoff or>erators are neglected, thecontraction of the spin is not small and the gain of the energy at 0 K due to thezero r>oint motion of sr>ins is comr>arable to the enerzv associated with the molec-ular field ar>r>roximation. If only it and Kr are not zero, this ar>r>roximation doesnot exr>lain the exr>erimental results. In the second arr>roximation, in which thecontribution due to the fourth r>ower terms is taken into account, the "uudd"phase becomes stable or metastable because of large zero point motion of spinseven when Jz-Kv<O, and the exchanues that onlv it and Kv are not zero, canexplain the experimental results, where 7., K P and Kp are the triple, planar andfolded type cyclic four spin exchanges.
