A sine-lattice equation sin(u... -u.) -sin(u, -u. .) -ii.=O is shown bothanalytically and numerically to exhibit approximate, but well-defined, one- andmulti-kink solutions of the form u.=A tan '(cc.//7.) for an arbitrary constant A >O,where the quantities cx. and p. are simply discrete versions of the corresponding onesin the conventional sine-Gordon equation. This is due to the kink dispersion relation4 sinh'(A/2) - co'=0 entirely equal to the case of the Toda lattice solitons.
