Frequencies of the localized lattice vibrations are calculated for the one-dimensional lattices which contain one or two impurity atoms whose mass and force constant are different from those of host atoms. The critical conditions for the existence of localized modes in various cases are summarized. Several numerical results obtained for the three-dimensional lattices are also presented.
