Sine-Lattice Equation.II.Nearly Integrable Soliton Properties of π-Kinks and Sonic π-Kinks

Two non-trivial versions, S(u.) -ii.=(g/2) sin (2u.) and S(u.) -i.=0 with S(u.);sin (u...-u.) -sin (u.-u. .), of a sine-lattice (SL) equation S(u.) -0.=g sin u.are studied. The latter is a new sort of nonlinear equation in which"sonic" n- and 2x-kinks arise from the sine-second difference S(u.) rather than the on-site term sin (!/.)or sin (2u.). In their bilinear operator form the former and the latter yielding m-kinkshave much neater form than the SL equation. These two equations exhibit approx-imate, but well-defined, one-and multi-m-kink solutions having one-to-one cor-respondence to those of the sine-Gordon equation, thus possessing nearly integrablesoliton properties for the m-kinks. A numerical calculation of one- and two-kink solu-tions is made to illustrate this for kinks of narrow width and/or high velocity.
