Maxnetoelectric effects of maunetite at 4.2 K were measured by applyingmagnetic field with both dc and ac methods. Analvses of the sisnals indicate thatthe maretic crvstal s>rmmetr>' at 4.2 K is nearly monoclinic but exactl>' triclinic.The results of as measurements at different magnitude of the applied magneticfield suggest that the electric r>orauization is induced mainly t>>' the rotation or themagnetization. The polarization along the #-axis, however, can not be explainedby this mechanism only.
