Formula is presented to evaluate the second order optical response in the exciton-phonon complex with the aid of the multiple-scattering expansion of the tetradicpropagators. The emission spectrum due to the exciton shows that the luminescencecomponent is strongly influenced by the transfer of the exciton. The mobile nature ofthe exciton brings about the rapid relaxation of the exciton due to the interaction withthe reservoir and reduces the intensity of the Raman component even in the case of theincident photon frequency Q above the fundamental absorption edge. These weakRaman lines recover their intensity when Q is chosen below the edge. It is suggestedthat the freedom of the choice of Q. is advantageous in investigating the competitivebehavior of the Raman and the luminescence components in the emission spectrum.
