TDPAC of γ-Rays Emitted from ^<111>Cd(←^<111>In) in α-Fe_2O_3

Time differential perturbed angular correlation (TDPAC) of 7-rays emittedfrom "'Cd(+-"'In) doped in a-Fe.0. was measured. The spectrum observed at420'C was analyzed well with a unique set of a hyperfine magnetic field and anelectric field gradient. Conversely, the one observed at 20'C was analyza15leonly by introducing a distribution to a certain hyperfine parameter because ofthe after-effects of the preceding EC decay. Electric field gradient for the excitedions after the EC decay seems to be somewhat different from that for the stableionS. The disappearance of the after-effects at 420'C means that the stronglytemperature dependent lifetime of the excited tons is very short at this temperature.The present results show that TDPAC using nuclides arising from EC decayscan be useful in studying insulators by making a high temperature measurement.
