Positron Study of Nb-Mo Alloys

Angular correlations of positron annihilation radiation on Nbg.Mo.. andNb,.Mo.. are measured. The electron-positron pair momentum distributionsare calculated using the rigid band model based on the band structure of pure Nb.Most of the experimental features are reproduced and explained by a simplephysical picture that the extra valence electrons from Mo fill the hole region inthe momentum space. It is found that there exist well defined Fermi surfaces evenin the most concentrated alloy of this system.
