Theory of Antiferromagnetic Superconductors in the Presence of Nonmagnetic Impurities : One-Dimensional Model : Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics

The effect of nonmagnetic impurities on the antiferromagnetic superconductors with a one-dimensional band is studied by calculating the second order phase transition temperature, the specific heat jump, the ground state and the phase diagram within the mean field theory. We show that the interplay of the antiferromagnetic field, H_Q, and nonmagnetic impurities results in the reduction of the effect of H_Q by impurities and the appearance of the gapless state in a certain region of the impurity concentration. It is demonstrated that these properties are attributable to the existence of an effective pair-breaking parameter.
