Effect of a Sinusoidal Magnetic Field on Superconductors in One-Dimensional Model

The effect of a sinusoidal magnetic field, 2H_QcosQz, on superconductors with one-dimensional band is investigated by the use of mean-field theory. We assume the spatially homogeneous order parameter and the temperature independent magnetic field. It is shown that the effect of H_Q destroying the BCS state weakens as |Q-2p_F| increases, where p_F is the Fermi momentum. By Calculating the ground state and the second order phase transition temperature, we obtain on the H_Q-ε plane, (2ε=v_F|Q-2p_F|), that there are a domain of second order phase transition and another domain of first order phase transition as temperature decreases.
