Novel Phase Transition in Quarter-Filled SDW State with Dimerization

We have exarnined spin density wave (SDXV) state in a qtrasi-one-dimensional electron systernxvitla both cornznenstrrability of' qtrarter-filled band and dimerization, which compete xvith eachother. It is shown that there are two kinds of critical temperatures: T. for the onset of' the SDXN7state and T.x(< T.) for another phase at low teutaperattures, where both phase transitions are ofthe second order. The f'ortaaer is pure 2AlF-SDXV and flue latter is followed by 4Ap-charge densitywave with Fermi momenttrtaa, kp.
