• A training course for a national licensing examination at the university level was carried out twice during the 1982 and 1983 summer holidays. The results of the first summer's program had no effect on students' ability to pass the subsequent national examination, but the second summer's program showed a high success rate. Factors of program effectiveness, student motives for entrance to technical schools, and benefits of introducing licensing training programs in the university curriculum are discussed.
