Hydroxyapatite was prepared by the hydrolysis of urea. Process of formation of HAp were investigated in different NaH_2PO_4 concentration (Ca/P mole ratio=1.67). On heating the mixed solution containing Ca^<2+>, NaH_2PO_4 and urea, CaHPO_4 (DCP), Ca_8H_2 (PO_4)_6・5H_2O (OCP), and Ca_<10> (PO_4)_6 (OH)_2 (HAP) were obtained independently or mixture products were obtained with the pass of reaction time successively. The crystallized HAp was easily produce in heating for 5h at 100℃ in NaH_2PO_4 concentration of the range of 0.1-0.15 mol/dm^3,while the mixture of OCP and CaCO_3 was obtained for 5h at 100℃ in NaH_2PO_4 concentration of 0.01 mol/dm^3. These substances were produced together with the changes in pH in the reaction solution. Independently each of HAp, OCP, and DCP could be obtained by controlling pH of the solution with using a suitable amount of urea, and NaH_2PO_4 concentration and by controlling reaction time. It is possible to prevent from contaminating carbonate by bubbling N_2 gas in the solution.
