We have previously shown that hydrocarbon substances of high photochemical reactivity have lower ionization potential. We demonstrate that a relation holds between low ionization potential and high efficiency of photoelectric effect, and describe the method we have developed to detect efficienty. Substances of higher photoelectric reactivities the apparatus used in this investigation was a electrodeless discharge by microwaves. The ionization efficiency for various organic compounds determined by Kr lamp. This result suggests that, in general, analysis of amines with low ionization potential is feasible using a Xe lamp. The measurement was seen to possible almost to the ppm level.
