Previously we reported the induction of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α mRNA in the liver of interferon (IFN)-γ transgenic mouse, which might be the result of IFN-γ gene expression. In the present study, IFN-γ mRNA was induced in the liver, kidney and lung. TNF-α mRNA was, however, induced in the liver and kidney, but not in the lung. Induction of interleukin (IL)-2 and IL-1β mRNA was lacking in any of these organs. The present result showed the induction of TNF-α mRNA expression in the kidney of transgenic mouse.
