Materials were 10 patients (10 males) with cervical spinal cord injury with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament treated at our hospital from 1980 to 1990.The irmean age was 61.1 years. Many cases showed hyperextension type injury, and no radiographical damage was noted in all cases. The cases of severe paralysis as to Frankel A or B showed over 40 percent ratio of the spinal canal narrowing and poor recovery from paralysis.
