We derive an interference model to predict the range and level of interference generated in the TV bands by portable low-heigh antenna cognitive wireless access points (AP) in suburban and urban areas. One novel and foreseeable application of our model is in the realm of TV White Space (TVWS) spectral management. The model can be stored in databases designated to provide coexistence services in TVWS and utilized for calculations of mutual interference amongst subscribed secondary networks. Spectrum assignment that minimizes the aforementioned interference follows and significant increase of TVWS usefulness can be expected.
