Ergosterol peroxideは薬用キノコ類の代表的なオキシステロール化合物であり,これまで抗炎症,がん細胞に対するアポトーシスや細胞増殖抑制活性などの様々な生理活性が報告されている。従って,抗癌性を有するキノコと呼ばれる17種の子実体,5種の菌糸体中に含まれるergosterol peroxideやこの化合物の前駆物質であるergosterolの定量分析法の検討を行った。種々な分析法を検討した結果,検出器としてDADやAPCI-MS^2を組み合わせたHPLCによって,ergosterolやergosterol peroxideを一回の試料注入で分析することが可能となった。分析した試料中ergosterolはG. fromdosa(0.283%,w/w)に,ergosterol peroxideはG. colossum(0.053%,w/w)に最も多く含まれていた。
